In the present work an estimation of peak flows is carried out in the urban basin belonging to the neighborhood Marzal, located in the city of Luanda, Angola. It takes as a starting point the Managing Plan of Sanitation of the city and the study carried out by the Unit of the Technical Cabinet of Sanitation of Luanda (UTGSL) for Marzal basin. For hydrological modeling the nonlinearreservoir model of the RUNOFF block of the software SWMM was applied with different soil uses (current and a projection to year 2030). The results allow checking in a preliminary way the feasibility of the solutions offered by UTGSL which reduce peak flows and the time of permanency of the floods in the neighborhood of Marzal.
