Resumen
ROJAS SIGALA, Diego y GONZALEZ PEREZ, Mario Guadalupe. Uncertainty in hydrological modeling and planning of waterworks in Mexico. riha [online]. 2015, vol.36, n.2, pp. 69-83. ISSN 1680-0338.
The results obtained from hydrological models used currently in planning of hydraulic works in Mexico have not favoured the reduction of the effects generated by meteorological phenomena related to rainfall and runoff in population centers. The limited information in flow measurements, essential in determining the accuracy of the results and primary parameter in making decisions about design, construction and operation of stormwater or wastewater infrastructure projects, motivates the use of technological tools that resemble more closely the behavior of real water. Therefore the need for application of models that integrate the spatial and temporal variability of rainfall to produce results enhancing socio-economical and environmental dynamics in urban centers.
