The present article is the second of a series of seven, all relative to energy dissipators that can be used in hydraulic works. The whole group of these articles conform a monograph about the subject that is being prepared by the author, concluding it by the middle of the 2017 year and later on incorporating it into a new edition - in preparation - of the textbook "Spillways and Intake Structures." This second article is a detailed presentation about two structures of energy dissipation that have a wide universal use.
