ALEGRET BRENA, Evio y MARTINEZ VALDES, Yaset. Hazen-Williams coefficient as a function of Reynolds number and relative roughness. riha [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.3, pp. 41-55. Epub 30-Sep-2019. ISSN 1680-0338.
The results obtained from the evaluation of the Hazen-Williams coefficient are presented as a function of the relative roughness and the Reynolds number, obtaining as a result that it varies according to both variables, not having a constant value. The results of the calculation of friction head losses in pipes are shown using the Darcy-Weisbach and Hazen-Williams equations, for different materials with different values of relative roughness and Reynolds numbers and Hazen-Williams coefficients. From this comparative study it was obtained that the values of head losses obtained by those equations differ from each other, except when the Hazen-Williams coefficient is determined as a function of the relative roughness and the Reynolds number, in which case comparatives errors are negligible.
