In the present contribution an analysis is made about the possible origin and calibration of the discharge curve of the gauging section located in Torre Norte in the Vento channel. Special attention is paid to the calculation of closed conduits when studying several expressions used by Albear in his original project. Similarly, using measurements made in previous researches, as well as records of average monthly values of the depth circulation between 1952 and 2006, it has been possible to analyze the variation of the roughness with time and the consequent variation in the capacity discharge of the channel after 125 years of operation.
