Heart diseases are the first cause of death in Cuba. Through the 2000 year died due to this cause 20 173 persons, 8 393 suffered heart attack and 6 905 other types of heart diseases, that is why if we can decrease the incidence of the sickness modifying the coronary risk factors, the morbid-mortality would decrease. This study was made with the purpose to lessen the coronary risk factors to a group of patients having an izquemic cardiopathy integrating them to a Rehabilitation Cardiovascular Program. An interventional, longitudinal, prospective study was carried out with the patients admitted at the Cardiology Room of the University Clinic-Surgical Hospital Faustino Perez Hernandez, from Matanzas, since the first of January until the 31 of December of 2005, with a diagnose of heart attack and multiple coronary risk factors, which were submissive to physical exercises, as well as educated speeches during three months. At the end, it was observed that all coronary risk factors studied (obesity, sedentary, the smoking habit, hypertension, glycaemia, cholesterol and triglycerides) decrease significantly. The application of this program, as a secondary prevention, play a value role decreasing the coronary risk factors, that is, if it is possible to lessen this factors in population, morbid-mortality could be less too, because is the principal cause of death in the world.
