^les^aEn el presente trabajo se expone el criterio de los autores sobre la importancia de  protocolos de actuación médica en el incesante espiral de la calidad asistencial, resume  los elementos que constituyen los protocolos de actuación de diagnóstico y terapéutica en las instituciones de salud, así como el análisis de su confección, aplicación y evaluación periódica, relacionados con la necesidad de aportar, como consecuencia de su implantación, una calidad asistencial, preventivo-curativa superior, además aporta procedimientos que preservan la seguridad y autonomía de los pacientes y la racionalidad en el uso de los recursos, ambas cuestiones de enfoque (calidad asistencial y ahorro de recursos) cumplen los requisitos de pertinencia que demanda la sociedad. Otro aspecto interesante abordado, lo constituye el relacionado con la unidad de criterios para la acción, con  basamento identificado con la mejor evidencia científica actualizada e incorporada en la fundamentación teórica y práctica en la confección del citado documento, no dejando margen a improvisaciones individuales, que puedan comprometer los objetivos planteados.^len^aIn the current work we expose the criteria of the authors on the importance of the medical acting protocols in the unstoppable spiral of the care quality. We also reviewed, in a practical way, the elements that are the diagnostic and therapeutic acting protocols in the health care institutions, and also the analysis of the process of making, applying and periodically evaluating them. We linked that with the necessity of giving a higher preventive-healing quality care as a consequence of its introduction. At the same time we bring procedures preserving the security and autonomy of the patients and the rationality in the usage of the resources. Both questions (care quality and resource saving) fulfill the requirements of pertinence demanded by the society. Another interesting aspect treated is the one related with the criteria unity for the action, based on the best updated scientific evidence, and incorporated to the theoretic and practical basis of that document making, without giving a chance to individual improvisation that could jeopardize the planned objectives.
