^les^aLas personas tienen derecho al cuidado equitativo, eficiente y atento de su salud, y la sociedad, en su conjunto, debe garantizar que ninguna quede excluida del acceso a los servicios de salud y que estos proporcionen una atención de calidad. Las comisiones de Ética Médica deben apoyar a los órganos de dirección y con ello contribuir al incremento del estado de salud de la población y su satisfacción con los servicios que reciben. La Resolución Ministerial No. 138, expedida por el Ministerio de Salud Pública en 2009, empoderó a las comisiones con una herramienta jurídica que facilita sus funciones, por lo que la adecuada interpretación de la resolución y su aplicación oportuna constituyen elementos clave en la asesoría que debe desarrollar. En un nuevo intento por aclarar dudas aún existentes entre los profesionales de la salud sobre las comisiones de Ética Médica, se decide realizar este trabajo. Es de especial interés contribuir, además, con la presencia de un espacio sobre temas bioéticos.^len^aPeople have the rights to an equitable, effective and attentive care of their health, and the society, in the whole, must assure that nobody will be excluded to access the health care services, and that these services provide a qualitative care. Medical Ethics Commissions should support the managing organs, contributing that way to increase the population´s health status and to the population´s satisfaction with the services they receive. Ministerial Resolution Nr 138, issued by the Ministry of Public Health in 2009, empowered the commissions with a juridical tool facilitating their functions. The correct interpretation of the resolution and its timely application are key elements in the advisement they should carry out. In a new intent to eradicate doubts still existent among health professionals about the Medical Ethics commissions, we carried out this term. Besides that, we were especially interested in contributing to the existence of a space about bioethic themes.
