The variables that were studied were age, sex, epidemiological classification, risk factors, oral diseases and level of knowledge. Empirical and statistical methods were used.

Poor oral hygiene was identified in 52 % of the sample studied. The most prevalent oral disease was dental caries (41.8 %) and the level of knowledge about oral health proved to be regular (61.7 %) in most of the population.
