This revision was carried out with the main objective of reflecting aspects of homosexuality such as its definition, origins, psychological dysfunctions that may be associated to it and some ideas concerning the so - called “therapies of change”. Among the most outstanding findings we can mention the variety of existent definitions, their diverse origins from the biological, psychological and social points of view, the variety of psychological dysfunctions connected to it and the different criteria about the effectiveness of the therapies of change. The most important conclusions point out the real necessity of investigations on this variant of sexuality to end up understanding it in all its magnitude, besides deepening into the knowledge about the origins of heterosexuality in order to understand homosexuality thoroughly
