Abstract

In the work it is carried out an analysis of the blindness and the drop vision and their social causes. The last investigations indicate that the number of people that suffer avoidable blindness goes in increase. The costs that suppose the education, the rehabilitation and the loss of productivity by reason of the blindness have important repercussions in people, the families, the communities and the nations, in particular in the poorest areas in the world. The social necessity is compared with the advance of the characteristics of the Ophthalmology inside the Medical Sciences and its dynamics as for the technological development. The final objective constitutes the valuation of the conditions that it have given origin to the Mission Miracle from the social and political, scientific and technological point of view
