A descriptive study in the Clínica Estomatológica Docente Provincial “Ismael Clark y Mascaró, of the municipality and county of Camagüey, from November 2005 until May 2006 with the objectives of determining the prevalence of fear to dentistry treatment according to age and sex, to identify their ethnology and to specify the clinical characteristics of the patients in this phase. All patients that attended the assistance centre constituted the universe. 210 selected people integrated the sample in a random way inside the universe. It was obtained that it prevailed the male sex and the group of 41-50 year-old ages, the noise of the airotor it is the main cause from the fear to the estomatólogo followed by the individual perception of the pain; the clinical manifestations showed as perspirations and taquicardia, the stiffening, the tremors and hypersensitivity to the pain followed
