Introduction: Deontology and/or Legal Dentistry study aspects presents in Odontology, as in professional-patient relation as in proper attendance, among others themes. The study consist on evaluation of teaching methods of Deontology and Legal Dentistry Discipline on Brazilian Dental Schools. Material and Method: Data collect occurred by semi-structured questioner send by e-mail and correspondence. It was realized a descriptive analysis of quantitative answers, and it was used content analysis by categorical analysis technique for qualitative answers, according to Bardin. Results: Among 182 Brazilian Dental Schools in activity, 100 (54,9%) showed in its curricular grid the Deontology discipline and 61(66,5%), Legal Dentistry. It was observed that these disciplines are teaching on theoretical form (60,4%) and (52%) respectively. Principal forms of evaluation are: written prove (93,8%) and (100%) and seminaries (54,2%) and (45,9%). The majority of interviewed person (78,8%) and (60,8%) considered that these disciplines are related on direct and indirect form with the others disciplines. In relation to the importance of these disciplines on dental surgeon formation, 60,7% emphasized the presence of Deontology on clinical practice and Legal Dentistry in relating of professional with patient and society. Conclusion: the disciplines show teaching methods and conserver evaluation practices, being indispensable the practice for them. And so, it's necessary the teaching of them for formation of future professional, in relation to its profile, its clinical practice and its relation with patient and society.
