A strategy was designed to contribute to the theoretical-methodological preparation of tutors of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Camagüey. This article presents the actions developed considering the difficulties identified after surveying professors. Using different research methods, a theoretically based systematization was carried out. Results showed an inadequate preparation and experience of professors to cope with educational work, as well as confirming the need of the strategy, which took into account the new pedagogical pattern of Cuban higher education.
