The article deals with the behavior of the scientific publication of Humanidades Médicas, which publishes the results of scientific researches on Social Sciences and Humanities in Health, every four months and since January 2001. The behavior is presented according to the level of institutionalization, level of certification, results, and awards. The article also displays the journal´s main achievements of a 10-year lifetime, evaluates the deficiencies of papers received, as well as presenting a system designed to improve the authors, reviewers´ competences for writing and peer review.
