The National Program for Diagnosing, Managing, and Preventing Genetic Conditions and Congenital Defects is among the priorities of the Cuban Ministry of Health. The article presents a strategy to involve community work, social actors´ networks, and people in the solution of problems of health education, promotion, and prevention related to genetic risk perception. Therefore, an adequate reproductive health is achieved and better lifestyles for women of fertile age are promoted.
