The practice of limiting life-sustaining medical treatment is nothing new at intensive care units. Euthanasia should be distinguished from limiting life-sustaining medical treatments, which is considered as a good practice. This paper presents a theoretical reflection based on a bioethical analysis of the main differences between both of them.
