The quality and evaluation of the superior education is a topic that it worries to many countries. Numerous they are the initiatives to differentiate the quality among universities and to disclose their results by means of the international rankings. In this sense, the article that sample the analysis of three of the main world rankings of universities are presented, starting from the methodologies and of the indicators that appeal for the evaluation and positioning. It is also carried out a comparison among the methodologies, with emphasis in the bibliometric indicative, as well as in the tangible results of their classification listings and the employees as instrument appraiser that contains the variables and indicators present in Cuba.
