HERNANDEZ FIGAREDO, Pablo  e  GARCIA GUTIERREZ, Laureano. Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on human sexual activity. Rev Hum Med [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.1, pp. 188-205.  Epub 06-Abr-2022. ISSN 1727-8120.

Scientific production on the COVID- 19 pandemic has been focused above all on prevention measures and patient care. What was initially conceived as a respiratory infection capable of causing pneumonia has been shown to be an endothelial dysfunction, so it is logical to think of its sexual impact. This article consists on a bibliographic review on papers related to this repercussion in previous pandemics, and mostly in the actual COVID- 19. Papers reviewed sustain that the conditions of confinement, remote work and limitation of social activity, in addition to the consequent psychological effect, anxiety and depressive manifestations, may be capable of causing difficulties in male and female sexual performance.

Palavras-chave : COVID- 19; sexual activity; sexual dysfunction.
