Background: violence against women by their partners is a devastating event, generating tension, anguish and a threat to life.Objective: to assess the level of satisfaction with the Multidisciplinary Health Consultation among women victims of violence and to evaluate changes at the cognitive and affective level.Methods: an intervention study including all women victims of intimate partner violence treated at the Multidisciplinary Health Consultation in the municipality of Cienfuegos was conducted from 2009 to 2010. The variables analyzed were: age, time living in abusive relationships, occupation, type of aggression, type of relationship, changes in the cognitive and affective sphere, classification of the injury and satisfaction with the care received.Results: group aged 25 to 39 years predominated, as well as housewives; 86% were cohabiting couples, 30% reported the abuse after 10 years or more, 40% five years later and the rest waited a year; 7% suffered serious injuries; care provided by police instructors was rated as fair: 57%, poor: 30%, good: 13%. Forensic experts’ services were described as good: 46%, fair and poor: 26%. Care provided by the psychologist was rated as good: 100 %. Changes at the cognitive level were considered good: 80%, fair: 20%. All patients (100%) improved their affective state.Conclusions: in the management of violence against women by their partners, proper organization of resources, integration of other specialists and form of care have a positive impact on women survivors of abuse and quality of care.
