VILLAFUERTE REINANTE, Janet et al. Elderly well-being and quality of life, a challenge for inter-sectoral action. Medisur [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.1, pp.85-92. ISSN 1727-897X.
Aging of the Cuban population is one of the most important social and demographic implications arising from the decrease of fertility, mortality and the increase of life expectancy; the consequences of such a phenomenon in the current society make its systems responsible of great and complex governmental and state decisions. This acquires major relevance for the health sector. Preparing to face aging and having a society more friendly with elder people is a priority for the Municipal Health System in Cienfuegos. Intersectoriality constitutes an essential way to improve the quality of life of the 60 year old population and older. A bibliographic review was done aimed at showing how intersectorial action may contribute to transform health situation, wellbeing and life quality of the elder.
