Next August we will be celebrating the 108th anniversary of Professor Pedro Kouri Esmeja (1900-1964). To imagine parasitological science without his scientific thoughts is impossible. His contribution to the development of Medicine to the teachings of Parasitological sciences in Cuba, and his many international collaborations, make a must to mention his name when talking about medical sciences in Cuba. An important place in Pedro Kouri’s life occupied The Havana University in the multifaceted way he reached. In this historical note we want to pay a tribute to his work and dedication, to demonstrate his consecration to studies and teaching which make of him one of the most important representatives of Cuban medicine in the XX th Century.
