Abstract

DIAZ NOVAS, José. Medical treatment: experience, theory and methods. Rev haban cienc méd [online]. 2008, vol.7, n.4. ISSN 1729-519X.

Medical treatment needs a systematic and organized methodology for the necessary steps to make rational therapeutics. Taking as basis the proposal of Groningen Holland University and under the auspices of the World Health Organization we present the six proposed steps in the original report, with the purpose to alter some considerations with the aim to adapt it to the working conditions of Primary Health Care. This work has a proposal to show the invariants of how to perform a rational prescription while applying the methodology of Good Prescription. Its objective is to show how to prescribe and not what to prescribe, taking in consideration that knowledge about medications change constantly; new drugs arise in the market, new indications for their use appear, etc. It all means that what it is prescribed changes in time, but the rational method of how to do it is necessary.

Keywords : Medical Treatment; Guide of Good prescription; Therapeutics.
