In order to characterize the manpower devoted to stomatological assistance and teaching, we performed a research that can serve as reference to further studies. Every director or head of service for stomatological units at Boyeros Municipality was given a form containing the main data of the staff: professional level, master degree, specialization level and teaching rank. We describe the conditions of our municipality and the teaching process that officially started for undergraduate level on 2004 and for postgraduate level and Technology of Health on 2005. We analyze that both assistance and teaching activities are evolving toward higher levels, and emphasis must be done on improving the academic condition of the staff.
