The teaching methods are the most dynamic components of the teaching learning process since they are based on the actions of teachers and students.Some authors set apart the teching methods from the learning methodos when in fact, they are closely related and from a dialectic unity. When applying a teaching method we have to take into account the logic operations prevailing in each stage of the learning process and highlight the ones that make easir the creatvo independent activity of the students. There is a mide variety of methods as there are diverse clasification critere. The objetive of this paper is to briefly explain the fundamental aspects of the teaching methods, emphasizing its concept and classification, as well as the application in the different learning process. Among the classifications better known it is decribed in a summarized way the corresponding in the level of participation of the subjets, the assimilation level of the teaching contents and the problemis me thods. To end up the learning process stages are explained and the teaching methods applied to each of them are precised.
