Implantology is a technique with scientific basis and great foundation in the history. It has been developed with need of the replacement of the missing teeth. 17 bibliographies and authors had been consulted such as Bidez, Bechelli, Kayser, J.del Rio and Cols among others. The objective is to characterize the evolution of different chronological stages of the history of dental implant. In this research we came into the conclusion that since ancient times dental transplant had been carried out . In modern times the first intraveolar implants were made of metal while in contemporary times the concept of dental implant is defined for the first time. Today the most significant fact described is the osseintegration.
