Functional and morfological disturbances of lips are common in our country which united deforming habits and dentomaxillofacial anomalies cause incompetent labial closing. An observational study was made including 180 children both genre with age range from 5 to 12 who attended schools and children's nurseries belong Tomás Romay´s Clinic during 2006-2007 to determine inferior labial force for first time during closing. 90 children had competent bilabial and 90 incompetent. Wilcoxon´s test was used to compare stockings in independent and paired samples. Inferior labial force in this study increased with the age and the teething type, being bigger in males, with 291.33 grams in permanent teething of competent bilabial closing's group, and 336.00 grams in the incompetent group, we recommend carrying out preventive actions from early ages to prevent severity of malocclusions that usually appear in those ages.
