Resumen

RAOLA SANCHEZ, María Esther et al. Returning to dialysis after kidney transplant failure . Rev haban cienc méd [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.2, pp.188-195. ISSN 1729-519X.

An increasing number of patients are returning to dialysis after kidney transplant failure. After their failure, these patients have high morbidity and mortality, on which various influencing factors. It is unclear whether the increased mortality among these patients compared with those on the waiting list who have not received a kidney transplant. To describe the morbidity and the factors that influence it back in haemodialysis patients after kidney graft failure. Transplant patients return to dialysis in a progressively increasing rate in relation to the largest number of transplants performed. Thus, in the United States, one quarter of patients admitted to dialysis or on the waiting list have received a renal transplant. The question that arises is whether the morbidity and mortality is higher after graft failure than patients who never have been transplanted. The main causes are related to cardiovascular disease and the factors that are linked to it are due to graft loss, nutritional status, immunosuppression received, time spent in transplant rate at which replacement therapy has begun, anemia, presence of oncoproliferativas infectious diseases, vascular access is available, among others. To the poor prognosis after return to dialysis, morbidity and mortality and its risk factors in relation to mortality among patients awaiting kidney transplantation will allow us to intervene to reduce them and improve their life expectancy.

Palabras clave : Hemodialysis after renal transplant failure; morbidity and mortality factors.
