Abstract

The Cuban national health system born in 1960, is one of the most important achievements in our country, as a result of the intense political and social changes after the triumph of the Revolution. This paper emphasises the different assumed tasks in order to obtain the medical excellence in the Cuban and international context and the importance of integrating protocols to medical practice as a worth tool which also has a significant outcomes on the academic and investigative areas. Finally, we outline the basic strategies for its future development in Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital.
