This is a description of what happened in the First Forum on Humanism and Health, organized by the Centre of Humanities Studies and held at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, along the central topic of «Humanism in healthcare professions». The meeting was dedicated to honor the memory and thought of the greatest Latin American revolutionary and humanist of the 21st century, President Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías. The afore mentioned event was opened with the speech entitled Humanism as Ethical Grounds, which was followed by the presentations of the panel members that focused on Patient Care. At the closing part, a group of university tutors were acknowledged for their significant contribution to the humanistic education of health professionals.
