The University Extension in the Havana University of Medical Sciences has resized and inside its tasks we find the dedication to the Marti’s Cathedra that constitutes an area of key results of great importance about the knowledge of the life and work of José Martí and other Latin American eminent persons, propitiating an academic space for the reflection and debating, also contributing to the integral education of the futures professional in the health sector. Was carried out a historical study with the goal of describing the history of the Marti’s Cathedra of the of Nursing College "Lidia Doce" It was used as theoretical methods the analysis of documentation and as an empiric method, the interviews. Was concluded that the Marti’s Cathedra of Nursing College "Lidia Doce"", has contributed to the development of values, deepen inside the study of the life and work of José Martí, also encouraging our students, professors and workers the study of the homeland’s history, contributing at the same time to the integral formation of the futures professional of the health sector.
