The article presented here is the result of the project A Landscape Approach to Conserve Threatened Mountain Ecosystems. Its objective is to offer some reflections on environmental education in the preparation of the teacher in the multigrade elementary school. Among the methods applied for its elaboration were the analysis of documents, participant observation, analysis of the product of the activity, and the criteria of experts. It is concluded that the reflections offered contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process, given the complexities that arise in this type of educational center.
