The increasingly creative implication of Educational Resources in the professional training processes is a current issue within the Higher Education system of Public Health in Cuba. In this sense, the present article aims to reflect on the potentialities of Open Educational Resources and their use as a means of learning for students in the Nursing career. For the achievement of the objective, descriptive research of documentary type was developed by means of a critical analysis of a group of documentary sources, which allowed obtaining primary information, from whose classification, analysis, and interpretation a knowledge of reflection was derived. The methodological procedure carried out allowed for the explanation and contextualizing of the development and application of Open Educational Resources in the formative processes within the Public Health system and their perspectives of use as a means of learning for students of the Nursing career.
