The scientific article is the main discursive genre to communicate the results of the research projects that are developed in universities and research centers. Therefore, the training of graduate university students is essential. The objective of this article is to share with the academic and scientific community the difficulties these students from Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas have in preparation and writing scientific articles, as well as the experiences and reflections on the Training course on writing scientific articles they have. The research design is quantitative with an exploratory scope. Theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used. It is concluded that the bachelors in training from Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas did not have the necessary knowledge to prepare and write scientific articles, and that the Training course on writing scientific articles contributes to their training.
