The creation of the research project "System for the Overcoming of Local Televisions to promote the Local Development Project: SSTv" had a direct implication in the training of information professionals within the Central University "Marta Abreu" in Las Villas. The objective of the study was: to systematize the experiences and results of the SSTv project in the training of information professionals in central Cuba. The present study is classified as descriptive. Methods were used at the theoretical and empirical levels to obtain results. The project allowed updating the training of local television professionals. A methodology was established for the analysis of audiovisual content. A total of six books, two book chapters, 17 articles from peer-reviewed scientific journals and the presentation of more than 20 papers at international scientific events have been published.
