Resumen

In this paper, it is show that when the full phase of a GIS is evaluated, may occur failures in the GIS, which can damage the equipment of the test circuit. The GIS must be divided into sections that have the lowest capacitance possible to minimize the energy level during testing and reduce the risk of damages to the equipment of the test circuit. It should be considered that some sections may be submitted in more than one occasion to the maximum level of voltage. On another hand, the experience gained from the application of PD measurements during on-site commissioning test is shown. Measurements were carried out from the pre-stress voltages in order to detect and correct possible defects before applying the maximum voltage test.
