This work presents an economical evaluation of implementing a solar air-conditioning system using solar energy in Havana, Cuba. It was studied the feasibility of systems of small and medium capacities (7-35 kW) of absorption refrigeration machines which be in the world market. The parameters that were taken for the feasibility were the payback time and life cycle savings. Also it was analyzed the influence of the ratio storage volume/solar collector area (V/A) on solar fraction, auxiliary energy, saved energy cost, saved primary energy and emitted CO2. Besides, it was used the P1-P2 method for the economical aspects and the Φ-fchart method in order to determine de solar fraction. The price of petroleum was varied from 100 to 200$/barrel.
