TERRERO MATOS, Eduardo; LEGRA LOBAINA, Arístides Alejandro y CARCASSES CARCASSES, Joel. Procedure to design sampling of the wind speed in a promissory region. Part I. Theory and general algorithm. Energética [online]. 2015, vol.36, n.2, pp.200-209. ISSN 1815-5901.
The effective use of wind energy potential in a promising region requires adequate speed measurements obtained by installing a number of towers with anemometers, these data are processed and the results characterize this potential. This research aims to solve an important practical problem: given a region, determine how many sampling towers should be installed and where to do the measurements obtained to constitute a system of representative data for the study of wind speed and energy potential. From a process where prior information on the topographical, roughness and wind speed in the region and beyond, can be obtained the coordinates best placed tower on the basis of calculating the average probable error of the point estimates of the region is proposed.
