Abstract

BORGES VASCONCELLOS, Davel Eduardo  and  CONCEPCION CESPEDES, Yoel. Reactive compensation in primary distribution power systems applying genetic algorithms. Energética [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.1, pp.25-34. ISSN 1815-5901.

In the work it is the problem of the reactive power compensation in the primary distribution systems of electric power, having in consideration the effects of the unbalanced. In such a sense, the different aspects are approached for the reactive power compensation. The different technical used for such ends are discusses. Using models and three phasic load flows are expressed the effects of the reactive power compensation, integrated in an economic optimization function, modelled in the Net Current Value (VAN). Applying the technique of genetic algorithm is possible to formulate the problem and to maximize the VAN function in the preset environment, determining as solution the parameters of the capacitors banks fixed symmetrical or asymmetric can settle down. The proposed method, programmed in MATLAB, it is applied in the primary distribution circuit TK-9 of the city of Las Tunas, with the obtaining and discussion of the results

Keywords : Reactive power compensation; reactive compensators.
