Resumen

MOLINA GONZALEZ, Arnaldo et al. New energy indicators for tropical hotels. Energética [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.3, pp.198-207. ISSN 1815-5901.

Tropical and subtropical hotels, even others hotels in hot conditions, employs about 60 % or more of its energy on climate demand satisfaction. Several studies demonstrate kWh/HDO index traditionally used in the hotel sector, it is not adequate. It is due to the low correlation between energetic consumption and the daily habitational occupation, achieving just a 1,4 % for hotels in the city. This low correlation could be related to the omission of the weather impact. In this research, we propose a new adjusted energy indicator (Icadjusted) that takes into account the Temperature Factor of Positives Hours Degree (FtHG+). By the other hand, we propose another index with the aim of the optimal energy consumption characterization, called (Icbase). As a result, the employment of new energy consumption indexes able to describe the energy consumption with an accuracy of 65%, significantly higher to the energy consumption index (Icactual), actually employed by the sector

Palabras clave : Energy control; energy efficiency; index of energy consumption; temperature factor; Hours Degree.
