The objective of this work is to propose actions, in order to minimize the costs, associated with the maintenance of the generator sets of the Electric Power Generation Company Fuel - Oil, Bayamo, Granma, Cuba (EMGEF). A comparison is made between the planned maintenance program budget that is usually executed in the company and a new program, as a result of this study. The proposal is based on the lengthening of the maintenance cycle, from 2000 h to 3000 h; an intervention being carried out every 1500 h. A diagnostic schedule is presented. Measurement and inspection activities were carried out, declaring their respective routes. The costs of the execution of the proposed inspection and measurement routes are also determined. On the basis of the results, obtained in this analysis, a new, more economical and efficient maintenance budget was determined.
