Abstract

The work aimed to analyze the causes of the deviation of the fuel consumption index of the Hyundai 1.7 MW generators. The methods used were expert consultation, the hypothetical deductive method for the preparation of the Ishikawa diagram as well as the statistical method of principal component analysis for determining the influence of the percentage of sludge production against fuel consumption on consumption. The main result is the demonstration of the contribution of the sludge production percentage against fuel fuel consumption, the variability of the deviation of the consumption index, the influence of the environmental conditions and the efficiency of the radiator, as well as the pressure of fuel in engine power. With the control of the sludge production, the fuel pressure and the efficiency of the radiators, the fuel consumption rate can be reduced.
