At Cienfuegos S.A Refinery, the efficiency of each furnace is a critical variable to control. In this sense, the study proposed to establish the combined burning of fuel oil - fuel gas in the burners of the first chamber of the F-203 furnace. A methodology was presented for the comprehensive evaluation of said improvement proposal, which takes into account the calculation of energy efficiency before and after the improvement, the improvement in the environmental impact was demonstrated through the Life Cycle Analysis, with the use of the SimaPro 7.1 software by the Eco-Speed method and the economic analysis validated the proposal. As a relevant result, it was possible to increase the efficiency of the furnace by 4.5%; the combustion efficiency increased by 26.86% and the combustion gas outlet temperature decreased by 36.47 ° C. Finally, the generalization of the proposal was recommended.
