Abstract

GALLO, Guillermo et al. Modeling and Event-Driven Simulation of a Photovoltaic System Controlled with Two Configurations of Perturb & Observe Maximum Power Point Tracking. EAC [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.1, pp.57-67. ISSN 1815-5928.

In this article, a photovoltaic system is modeled and simulated in order to compare two different approaches of maximum power point tracking control structures. First, the system uses a Perturb & Observe maximum power point tracking control directly applied to the duty cycle, and its simulations results are compared with the experimental ones obtaining a good agreement. Then, an average current-mode control structure is coupled to the maximum power point tracking controller and simulations are performed for both systems. The system that incorporates current-mode control exhibits better response when perturbations are present, improving the settling time and reducing the steady-state oscillations.
