ROMERO AMONDARAY, Lidice; PINA FIGUEREDO, Félix Manuel e GOIRE CASTILLA, María Margarita. Wireless Sensor Network for "San José" greenhouse. EAC [online]. 2018, vol.39, n.1, pp. 16-26. ISSN 1815-5928.
In this paper, we propose a Wireless Sensors Networks for "San José" greenhouse in Santiago de Cuba to measure in real time temperature, relative humidity, and solar radiation. These measurements are not carried out in these installations due to the lack of instruments. In order to measure these variables, it was designed a network of 24 short-range eKo sensors nodes distributed in the 24 greenhouses and 1 short range eKo base station located in the administration office, connected in cluster-tree topology. This topology provides fault tolerance, scalability, and energy efficiency and the eKo platform guarantees durability because the batteries are recharged with solar panels. Finally, a simulation in NS2 probed that cluster-tree topology is suitable for this application because beacon-enabled mode saves energy with a higher data delivery ratio and latency. Real-time monitoring of environmental condition will help to achieve greenhouse production of high quality and quantity
