Resumen

One of the most common challenges to sustainable development for underdeveloped countries is access to objective data on the possible impact of air pollution on human health and the climate. For this reason, a low-cost system has been designed for the measurement of variables associated with air quality, called HZS-GARP-AQ-03. It is based on open hardware and software, which, combined with low-cost sensors, make up a measurement system capable of providing valuable information for decision-making. To ensure the minimum quality of the information obtained, calibration experiments have been carried out for almost all of the sensors integrated into the system. The HZS-GARP-AQ-03 is a concept prototype, with energy autonomy, that can operate isolated or connected to an IoT platform, its performance has been evaluated over several months in different locations in the central region of Cuba.
