Abstract

ALONSO-TORRES, Carlos. Guidelines to implement a process based management. Ing. Ind. [online]. 2014, vol.35, n.2, pp.159-171. ISSN 1815-5936.

The objective is to describe and interpret background to apply the process approach in organizations. The methodology considered the review and analysis of online access publications for displaying those focal aspects to be taken into account in applying the process approach effectively. The main findings indicate that the conceptualization of the process approach is heterogeneous and imprecise between the sources and the key findings indicate that: the identification of the process is facilitated when five basic principles are respected: the conceptualization of the processes is more clear and concise when characteristics or areas of action are clarified; a graphical representation suitable of process approach facilitates communication when their sub processes are designed and organized appropriately according to strategic, operational and support processes; the efficiency of the approach can be reflected if their sub processes create value and its deployment includes the four stages of the Deming cycle.

Keywords : process approach.
