In this paper search of information and communication technologies used by Small and Medium Enterprises business in the city of Ambato-Ecuador. Was conducted base don characterization of them, the needs of owners ga the red to improve business management. In Ecuador there are 704556: 74566 are engaged in commercial activity y 7848 are in the city of Ambato; 637 are the target population. A simple random sample of 87 SMEs, including the technologic alin frastructure is limited tousing a word processor, spreadsheet, accounting software and Internet applied, the information they need is sales processes, customers, inventory, payments, taxes, purchasing, accounting and indicators forreliable, efficient, economic, ecological and ethical management contributing to corporate social responsibility to the country. Iti sadvisable to use a system of enterprises resources planning with free software.
