The objective of the following work aimed to propose a procedure to contribute to a favorable work environment in higher education institutions. The methods used were historical-logical and analytical-synthetic to study the national and international background in the field of work environment, as well as the main research by academics and scientists on the subject. The main results were related to the contribution to a favorable work environment in higher education institutions, as well as the identification of 10 variables that were proposed to the experts, of which seven were identified as relevant for the analysis of the work environment in the project-oriented organization under study. In the application of the procedure, a program of actions was obtained that allowed to address the causes that can provoke negative manifestations of the identified variables, which allowed for precise decision-making in the actions.
