Abstract

CARDENAS-OLIVEROS, Javier Antonio; MOYA-RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano  and  HERNANDEZ-OCHOA, Daniel R.. Geometric factors for determining the bending strength of asymmetric spur gears with profile teeth involute-trochoid. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2011, vol.14, n.3, pp.230-244. ISSN 1815-5944.

In this paper an analytical method of calculus based on computer analysis of the spur gears graphic model with asymmetric teeth of involute profile and trochoid is proposed, it was estimated form geometry factor and bending strength by a direct calculus method. This procedure is first used to obtain form geometry factor. Furthermore, the factor J foundation for these types of gears was established. The results of this research determinates analytically the maximum bending stress, using the form geometry factor and bending geometry factor, built equations, tables and diagrams representing these parameters. The practical application of this solution approach allows the generalization of it in use in transmission mechanisms of cylindrical spur gears of asymmetric involute trochoid profile.

Keywords : asymmetric spur gear; geometry factors; bending strength; CAD/CAE.
